Four Leaves Chocolate Roll

Review:

After taking a packet of the chocolate roll, 7 - 8 packets were still available on the shelf. Upon purchasing, the staff who place the packet in the plastic bag told the cashier "London Choco Roll". I find it quite amusing and funny.. haha.. (there has been a popular commercial - London Choco Roll that was advertised on the television)

Outer Layer: Though the outer crust of bread looks dark and sturdy but it is very soft, delicate and tears off quite easily for the fingers. Suitable for children to eat.

Filling: The chocolate filling came as a surprise to me, on top of that, the taste of the filling puts me on cloud nine. The taste reminds me of the chocolate fondue from Tangs department - rich, semi sweet and smooth while being slightly sticky. The amount of the filling is quite pathetic and seemed like the company is in a tight budget!

Inner bread: The flesh of the bread is soft, appropriate moisture and oiliness is just right. The size of the bubbles that formed the flesh of the bread during baking was just appropriate, neither huge (spacious) nor tiny (compact). Thus making the bread soft and easily tear off evening using the lips. However, the flesh of the bread does not seems to carry any chocolate taste which was what I am expecting it to have... I felt disappointed in it.

Overall: Initially I thought it looked like charcoal bread... haha. However, upon one bite, it is marvellous on the inside.

Uniqueness: Soft flesh with semi-sweet chocolate fondue taste filling

What I Like: Chocolate fondue taste filling (just buy this bread and be able to enjoy the taste of chocolate fondue!!)

Conclusion: I like the taste of the filling and would buy it more often if it cost $3 ~ $3.50 for a packet of 4. On top of that if the amount of the filling is slightly more, this chocolate roll would definitely be on more demand!
